Just when you thought laminate designs couldn’t get any better, Lamitak is upping the game once more with Volume Two of its Portfolio.
Honest, authentic and raw. These were the qualities of a building cladding that captured our imagination as we travelled through downtown Portland in Oregon on our epic road trip. We loved the textures so much that it became the basis of a new laminate which bears the name of the location – Humboldt Street!
Anything can be an inspiration for design, even a rusted wall cladding.
Travel has always been a wellspring of inspiration for designers, even laminate designers. Wherever the Lamitak team goes, we always keep our eyes open for visually arresting textures; but it is not often we can pinpoint the final design to a single location. However, in the case of the rugged wood-inspired Rialto Pine laminate, it was two locations, halfway around the world from each other, which motivated its design. We share the story of its creation.
Bookmatched marble, once exclusive to luxury hotels and swanky abodes for its prohibitive price, has now been democratised. Lamitak has just launched two laminate designs inspired by bookmatched marble, and it looks set to revolutionise home design!
Thomas Edison famously said, “Genius is one per cent inspiration, ninety-nine per cent perspiration.” The process of creation is never easy, and perspiration definitely figures prominently in Lamitak’s journey of creating each laminate collection.
It is said you can find inspiration everywhere – if you just keep your eyes (and mind) open. For Lamitak, the search for inspiration crosses oceans, forests and skies. Nature might provide the source material, but through the lens of Lamitak, her rich colours and textures are distilled into evocative laminates for the home. How does the magic happen? Find out here.
