Everyone needs some ‘me’ time once in a while, and you don’t even have to go out of your home to zone out and relax. Conjure up a cosy corner easily with laminates to set the look and cement the design with some choice furnishings. We suggest seven fabulous looks to get you started.

Look 1 – Glamourous Retro

Featuring a moody shade of green-blue that exudes sophistication, the colour of the Espalier laminate is best enhanced with a bit of shine to bring out its glamourous personality. We would imagine this as the perfect perch for a nightcap. Whisky anyone?

Look 2 – Boho Chic

Using a swing instead of a traditional armchair is a great way to jazz up the decor of your home. This version is a modern interpretation of the old-school rattan swing, which stands out against the dark Vita Tivoli Elm laminate on the wall. The laminate is cut into vertical strips to perpetuate the look of natural wood planks.

Look 3 – Modern Resort

Reinvent the resort look with stone surfaces that aren’t craggy and earthy like before, but softer and cleaner, like the raw-rock-inspired design of the Urban Slate laminate. Similarly, pair with furniture made from natural materials; they should be simple and streamlined, not heavy and complicated.

Look 4 – A Quiet Luxury

Luxury is no longer loud and ostentatious. Do it softly and with restraint for more current appeal. We recommend using a glossy laminate such as Fico Florentina Marble on the wall, with furnishings in soft complementary colours.

Look 5 – Modern and Minimalist

A traditional armchair is great for relaxing, but for something more sleek, try a bench which can double as a daybed. The soothing colour of the Hemlock laminate might seem overpowering if used on an entire wall, so a look inspired by wainscoting was created for balance.

Look 6 – Botanical Appeal

The wonderful medley of greens in this inviting scene brings vibrancy to the space. Using two timber-inspired laminates, Ryo Shizuoka Oak and Cuiban Palisander, bring textural layers to the space to create a sense of warmth and welcome.

Look 7 – Dark Man Cave

Shut out the world and retreat into a cool, dark cave with almost inky black walls. The secret to the appeal of the Cylinder laminate lies in its shimmering holographic bands which only come to life when the light hits the surface.
